About this notice

Go Find a Run is operated by Harley Wettemann, an individual. This notice describes information handling when you browse, create an account, save activity or submit information.

Questions or requests: hello@gofindarun.com.

Information you provide

Accounts use an email address, display name and password credentials. The application stores a password hash. Account records can include favorites, saved searches, Running Passport outings and notes, submissions, organizer requests and reports. Passport entries are account information, not public directory listings. You may also choose optional favorite run types, a home city, a dream running city and a local travel radius. These private account preferences personalize Passport suggestions from our existing directory; they do not require device location. You can skip the questions, change individual answers or remove all preferences in Passport.

Manual event submissions can appear publicly as unconfirmed listings after automated checks. The optional submitter email is excluded from the public listing. Uploaded flyers and calendars are stored privately. AI extraction creates draft details for your review, followed by administrator review before publication.

Avoid including unnecessary health information, private addresses or children's personal information in notes, images, listings or messages. Use an appropriate public meeting location for public event listings.

Location and external services

The site may request browser location permission when you visit without a saved search. You can decline and search by city. When allowed, coordinates support nearby results. Coordinates rounded to three decimal places are sent directly from your browser to BigDataCloud for a place name. BigDataCloud also receives connection information, including your IP address, and says it anonymously aggregates coordinate/IP pairings to improve its geolocation data. Rounding does not make location anonymous.

City search uses Open-Meteo/GeoNames. Maps request OpenStreetMap Foundation tiles and load Leaflet software from unpkg. Direct browser connections expose connection information to those services and may reveal the area being viewed. Open-Meteo describes 90-day troubleshooting-log retention.

Storage, analytics and advertising

A session cookie supports account access. Floot basic analytics is configured to keep a random session identifier in memory, without saving an analytics identifier on your device. A reload or new tab can count as a new session. Its built-in pageview data includes page path, referrer, user agent, language and a timezone-derived country estimate. Floot identifies Tinybird as the processor and documents 12-month retention for raw pageviews, with derived totals retained longer. Its pageview records exclude IP addresses, query strings and URL fragments; this does not describe all other service logs. We also keep our own anonymous daily page counts (page type, referring website and whether you arrived from our TRE QR code), with no identifiers and nothing stored on your device.

The application can record advertising views and clicks by campaign, placement and market. Event-deduplication records are eligible for cleanup after seven days; aggregates are stored separately. Clearing browser storage does not delete server records. Analytics preferences in the footer lets you allow or decline optional Google Analytics. The choice itself is saved on your device. Optional Google Analytics is not loaded until you allow it; you can withdraw permission there. Analytics cookies set by this application are removed on withdrawal.

Optional Google Analytics stays off when the application detects Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track. Google receives sanitized public page paths, referring site origins, coarse search markets and counts, and action types such as saving or submitting. We do not send account identifiers, email addresses, form contents, journal notes, precise coordinates, or raw search URLs to Google Analytics. Google may receive connection information including IP addresses when its services are contacted. Advertising personalization and Google signals are disabled. Microsoft Clarity session recording is not enabled on this website while URL and private-page safeguards are being verified. Basic Floot counts and advertising measurement are separate from the optional Google Analytics choice.

Processing and access

Information supports account access, directory and search features, saved activity, submissions, organizer review, advertising measurement and abuse prevention. The operator and infrastructure providers can access information needed for their roles. Published listing information can be read, copied or indexed by others.

Floot supplies hosting, database, storage and AI services. Uploaded images are passed by temporary signed link to OpenAI through Floot for extraction. Floot's published terms say end-user data is not used to train its AI models and its app AI providers operate under commercial terms prohibiting training on that data. The request uses store:false; this does not mean all processing records are immediately deleted.

Public-request abuse controls use a hash derived from an IP address, request scope and hour, with cleanup for buckets older than 24 hours. A hash is not a guarantee of anonymity.

Retention and your choices

Record lifetimes differ. The current application has no general automatic expiry for most account and submission records. Deleting a Passport outing or removing all running preferences removes that data from its live database table; backups or logs may persist separately. There is no self-service account-deletion feature yet; email hello@gofindarun.com to have your account deleted.

Floot documents 90-day backend-log and 30-day CDN-log retention. These infrastructure periods do not determine how long account records or uploaded images remain.

You can revoke location permission, use city search, clear browser storage and remove individual Passport entries. Clearing browser storage does not delete your account or server records. Password hashing and access controls are used, but no service can guarantee absolute security.
